Japanese Plum Tree Care
Best grown across the United States in USDA plant hardiness zones 7-10. Cannot handle freezing temperatures and high chill hours of the northern states. If you have this tree in a large container it can be grown in cooler climates. Protect your tree from winter frosts by mulching or covering it with a sheet.
Be sure to space these shade trees at least 12-15 feet apart. This dwarf red plum fruit tree can grow up to 10 feet tall and 5-10 feet wide giving it a small compact space even at full maturity. Prune your plum tree in late winter when it is dormant to maintain desired size and shape.
Grows best across the United States in USDA growing zones 7-10. The Red Beauty Plum tree prefers full sun and well draining soil. Plum trees like a slightly alkaline soil for best fruit production.
Water the tree thoroughly for the first few years to establish a good root system. After this flowering plum tree is established, it is moderately drought tolerant. A slow release fertilizer in the early spring growing season will encourage new growth and spring flowers.

Just a note to let you know that the Scarlet Beauty plum tree we bought from you last year is gorgeous and is now covered in healthy and beautiful plums. We are very pleased. We had bought from other nurseries last year, but those trees do not compare with your tree. We will certainly buy from you again and we have sung the praises of this tree to our friends who also have fruit orchards.

This plum tree exceeded all my expectations! Came with baby plums on the tree. Going to order another one to improve the cross pollination even though it is self fertile. A great addition to my backyard orchard
