Product Description
The Tifblue blueberry plant produces big, delicious berries on hardy canes, making a must-have for your garden or landscape!
Blueberries are your go-to super food due to their high levels of antioxidants. The healing powers of blueberries are widely known. You just can’t beat the flavor of blueberries picked fresh off a plant you grew. Kids love them too!
With the Tifblue bush being a heavy berry producer, you will easily grow enough medium sized berries to make tons of muffins, smoothies, cakes, breads, pies, or even add them to your morning oatmeal or cereal. Blueberries are also easy to freeze, providing off-season enjoyment as well.
Tifblue blueberry bush was introduced at the University of Georgia Experiment Station in Tifton, GA. This amazing blueberry was a breakthrough in hybridizing native river bottom plants from Georgia and Florida habitats.
Tifblue Blueberry Information
It can handle colder weather better than other Rabbiteye blueberries, so this shrub is great for cooler climates. Around 650 chilling hours are the Tifblue blueberry chill hour requirement needed for this plant to set fruit properly. Grows best in USDA hardiness zones 6-9. The tifblue blueberry plant zones make it slightly cold hardy in the Southern states.
Fruits are large, light blue and fully ripe later in the harvest season, ready for harvest in mid-June to late July. Excess fertilizer easily damages blueberries, so be sure to allow for rain between applications. Plant in full sun for best results!
The tifblue blueberry plant size can get up to 3-15 feet tall and 3-10 feet wide at full maturity. Be sure to check out our blog post on How to Prune Blueberry Bushes.
The advantage of buying our potted blueberries is that their well-developed root systems will have them quickly thriving in your yard. These blueberry varieties do not ship bare root for the safety of the plants.
Planting Vaccinium Ashei
After the orders ship, be sure to plant the berry bush as soon as the plants arrive. You can even plant in raised beds with organic matter such as shredded pine bark, pine straw, or peat moss as mulch to support the vigorous upright growth. Blueberries prefer acidic soil and we have a special Blueberry Soil Mix that will amend your native soil or container soil perfectly.
Blueberries require cross-pollination to produce fruit. We suggest purchasing three plants of at least two different varieties for ideal fruit production. Choosing varieties that fruit at different times in the season will extend your berry availability throughout the year. The Rabbiteye blueberry TifBlue is a great choice for your berry collection.

ROBERT (verified owner) –
Plant shipped promptly but arrived three days late due to a UPS carrier issue. Plant was well branched, leafed and had fruit. There was limited stem/leaf damage and shock from spending a week (vs 3-4 days) in a dark box. However it has recovered nicely, adapted to the NJ climate and is growing rather well in its pot. It will be transplanted shortly to my yard.
