Your landscape will explode with color with the Fireworks Fountain Grass Shrub!
The Fireworks plant is a colorful, upright growing grass with dark burgundy-red foliage that arches gracefully outwards and produces one foot long red plume-like inflorescences that rise above the foliage and arch over nicely toward the tips. The Pennisetum setaceum performs as a masse for a stunning display of color.
This variegated purple fountain grass will explode when actively growing in the mid to late summer growing season. From a distance, the long plumes appear hot pink and they set viable seed pods. The purple flowers can get a few inches tall.
The red Fireworks Grass is a great ornamental grass that works well in mass plantings or as a specimen mixed with other contrasting colored plants near your patio or deck. It is extremely low maintenance and easy to care for!
FIREWORKS FOUNTAIN GRASS CARE
A clumping semi-evergreen grass, plant in full sun and water sparingly to control height. It is both moderately drought and heat resistant but looks its best with occasional summer irrigation. It looks its best if it is cut back in late winter to cleanly show of its new emerging foliage in early spring.
Grow the ornamental grass across the United States in USDA plant hardiness zones 9-11. It prefers warmer, southern climates to perform best. Well draining soil is best for the root system to establish.
This fast growing grass can get up to 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide making it the perfect specimen plant! A slow release fertilizer applied annually will help this colorful upright growing grass with variegated stripes grow.
