Colorful Summer Bloomer is Fast Growing in Nature
The Tuscarora Crape Myrtle tree is a long-time favorite of ours due to its long period of breathtaking blooms and handsome fall foliage that accentuates any garden or landscape in no time!
The Lagerstroemia Tuscarora pink Crape Myrtle is unique for its dark coral pink flower clusters, red orange coloring in the fall. Another amazing feature is its smooth, mottled, light cinnamon brown bark. The Tuscarora crape myrtle color puts on an outstanding display in the spring and summer months.
The crape myrtle’s coral pink flowering bloom time peaks in August, when the summer heat has taken its toll on many other ornamental plants. The dark green summer foliage is a nice contrast to the bright flowers and adds year round interest.
TUSCARORA CRAPE MYRTLE CARE
A great choice for southern gardeners. This fast growing tree thrives in USDA plant hardiness growing zones 7-9. The growth rate is moderate and it can grow up to 18 to 20 feet tall and 15 to 18 feet wide at maturity.
This crape myrtle Lagerstroemia indica variety has an extensive root system that requires lots of watering during the first year of planting. You may prune to a single trunk or let the tree grow to its natural shape. The flowering tree shape will grow to the space you plant it in.
The Lagerstroemia Tuscarora tree is recommended for urban planting as it tolerates smaller planting sites, and is generally less cold tolerant than other crape myrtle varieties. Plant this specimen or street tree in full sun in well drained soil. Not picky on soil type and it is fairly drought tolerant once established.
It is powdery mildew resistant but the addition of slow release fertilizer will help protect from other diseases such as leaf spotting on the green foliage. Fertilize in early spring while the tree is actively growing at the top of the root ball. Grow this as a large shrub or small tree until it reaches maturity.

At first sight I was disappointed. Not much more than sticks in a pot. 6 months later they had quadrupled in size and flowering... Great value...
