This hosta plant is a shrub that is a medium-sized hosta that features elegant, lavender, tubular flowers that rise above the green foliage beginning in mid-summer. The blue hostas attractive, small, textured, heart-shaped leaves remain blue-green in color throughout the growing season.

BLUE CADET HOSTA CARE
True Blue Cadet prefers moist, well-drained soil with partial shade to full shade. Hostas grow well in almost any soil, including heavy clay soils, but prefer for their roots to stay moist. The Hosta blue cadet size will grow to be about 16 to 18 inches tall at maturity extending a spread of 3 feet wide.
Grow across the United States in USDA growing zones 3-9. This hosta variety is an extremely cold hardy perennial that is easy to grow and low maintenance.
Spread a layer of mulch or organic matter in early spring to help retain moisture and encourage hosta flowers. An annual application of slow-release fertilizer at the top of the root ball will benefit this type of hosta. You can divide hostas in late winter or early spring when they outgrow their planting site. Hostas are one of the only plants to withstand transplant shock, even hosta’s blue flowers are not affected.
Slugs and snails are common pests of hostas. Use control methods such as slug pellets or bait to catch these pesky creatures from chewing your thick leaves! Hosta blue cadet, including its fragrant blue lavender flowers, is semi-slug resistant.

A great shrub for shady locations. Planted under my oak trees and fits perfectly. Took a whole year for them to establish and start growing but now the hostas are looking gorgeous!
