FAQs for Pink Drift® Rose Tree

Drift Rose Trees are special because they take all of the qualities of the Drift Roses and graft them onto a standard tree form. When grown as a Pink Drift Rose Tree, the plant is trained into a standard form and typically matures at 3 to 4 feet tall, with a rounded canopy of cascading pink blooms.

Drift Roses perform best in full sun and require approximately 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Adequate sun exposure promotes strong growth, better disease resistance, and continuous blooming throughout the growing season.

Drift Roses should not be pruned in winter, as pruning can encourage tender new growth that is vulnerable to cold damage. Instead, wait until late winter or early spring, once the threat of hard frost has passed, to prune. Spring pruning helps stimulate healthy new growth and a strong flush of blooms.

Drift Roses do not require excessive watering and are considered drought tolerant once established. During the first year after planting, regular watering is important to help develop a strong root system. After establishment, they handle heat and short dry periods well, needing supplemental water only during prolonged drought. A thick 2-3 inch layer of mulch will greatly help to retain moisture during the summer growing season.
