BIG SHOWY LAVENDER BLOOMS

The Twilight Crape Myrtle tree’s lavish dark lavender blooms and incredibly fast growth rate make it hard to say no to this beautiful tree!

The lagerstroemia indica Twilight Crape Myrtle boasts delicate light lavender pink flowers that have a bloom period of up to 120 days. The glossy green leaves turn bright red in the fall.

The Twilight crape myrtle bloom time is in early spring and flowers will start opening up in late spring to early summer. The shiny light gray cinnamon-colored bark of the trunk is hidden by mottled exfoliating bark layers.

TWILIGHT CRAPE MYRTLE CARE

Crape Myrtles have an exceptionally fast growth rate and in 15 to 20 years the Twilight tree reaches a height of 30 feet tall and up to 20 feet wide. It has a massive trunk caliper. This flowering tree can easily grow 3-5 feet per year and can double in size in the first 5 years of planting as a young tree.

The Twilight crepe myrtle prefers full sun and well drained soil and is very drought tolerant after being established. Be sure to fully water in its container pot down to the root system before planting. A slow release fertilizer at the top of the root ball during the winter or early spring growing season will help encourage new lavender flowers.

The lagerstroemia Twilight grows as a shrub or small tree and is very low maintenance. It is tolerant of clay soils, sandy soils, and is powdery mildew resistant. Grows across the United States in USDA growing zones 6-9.
