BEAUTIFUL PINK FLOWERS LOAD THIS SMALL TREE IN EARLY SPRING!
As beautiful as the Ann Magnolia tree’s blooms are, it’s a great addition to your landscape even when it’s not in season as the ornamental tree maintains an attractive mounded shape all year round! The ann magnolia bush, also called ann saucer magnolias or lily magnolias, is one of our favorites that flourishes across the United States.
When Do Magnolias Bloom?
Ann Star Magnolia Trees have goblet-shaped flowers that are lightly fragrant and may periodically repeatedly bloom in mid-summer. Purple-red flowers appear even during early spring frosts! The flower blossoms have 7-9 petals. The medium green leaves unfurl and turn yellow in fall before shedding for winter. Ann magnolia’s fall color is another appeal to growers in colder states with a more prominent winter.
MAGNOLIA ANN TREE CARE
The Ann Magnolia bush is best grown in moist, organically rich, acidic, well-drained soil and in full sun to partial shade. This is a late-blooming magnolia that is less apt to suffer frost damage in spring. It is resistant to pests and diseases.
Grows best in USDA growing zones 4-9 and can be grown across most of the United States. Very cold hardy. Be sure to water well the first year of planting to establish a strong root system. A slow-release fertilizer at the top of the root ball will help in the early spring growing season.
Ann Magnolia vs Jane Magnolia
It is common to mistake the Ann and Jane magnolia as one and the same, but in fact, they differ in a few ways. The Ann Japanese Magnolia tree can live in zones 4-9 while Jane Magnolia lives in zones 4-8. Additionally, the Ann tree has a darker flower color than Jane.
How Big Does An Ann Magnolia Get?
The Ann Magnolia tree is mostly noted for its compact shrubby habit, slightly fragrant deep reddish-purple flowers, and early to late spring blooms. The flowering tree is a slow-growing, deciduous shrub/small tree. The ann magnolia tree size will typically rise to be over 10-12 feet tall and about 10 feet wide as a mature tree. The Ann Magnolia Tree height will vary on pruning patterns and external conditions.
Ann Magnolia Pruning
When pruning your magnolia x ann pink you will need clean, sharp cutters. Start by pruning off any dead or diseased branches. Then shape your tree accordingly to your desired look. It is best to trim your ann magnolia in summer or early fall.

Thank you for your kind words and your Ann Magnolia Tree purchase.

Healthy Ann Magnolia arrived fast
Received my Ann Magnolia plant and fertilizer within 4 days. Packed safely, received potting soil mix the day before. I'm impressed by the very healthy plant I received. I planted it late afternoon, followed your detailed directions online and watered it after putting mulch to help retain moisture. Looking forward to seeing it grow and bloom. Will recommend Perfect Plants to anyone asking me where to purchase plants. (Also pleased that you're a family business; and in Florida -- shorter distance for my plants to ship!)

Purchased Two Ann Magnolias
I received my two 3.5 foot tall magnolias about six weeks ago - they were securely packed and arrived healthy and in good condition with several buds on each plant. I planted them immediately, and they buds continued to swell and then began to open in about two weeks. about two weeks later, the plants began to leaf, and they are now covered with foliage. The plants are thriving so far, and I am happy with my purchase.

Be patient
Excellent. I was concerned with white substance on my Ann magnolia and customer service was great. I was horrified to see all the beautiful green leaves fall of in winter and just a bunch of sticks coming out of the ground. But then, early March these “sticks” began to bloom. All three produced gorgeous flowers and continue to this day. Absolutely gorgeous and I was ready to chuck them! Be patient people. These are high quality plants and the customer service is great. I would order more if I only had room haha.

Beautiful Tree
I ordered an Anna Magnolia from Perfects Plants. At first I received the wrong tree but Mrs. Shirley made things right. She was very nice and I ended up with a beautiful tree. It is blooming right now! I would buy another tree from Perfect Plants.
