You'll Get Vibrant Bi-Color Blooms Twice a Year with The Autumn Starburst™ Encore® Azalea

Autumn Starburst™ Is a Long Blooming, Pollinator-Friendly Encore® Azalea for Your Landscape

Autumn Starburst™ Encore® Azalea bursts with coral and white blooms in both spring and fall. This evergreen shrub thrives in partial sun, attracts pollinators, and adds vibrant color to gardens, borders, or containers with low-maintenance care and compact growth.

Bi-Color Blooms That Brighten the Landscape

With two bloom times during early spring and early fall, it is not hard to fall in love with this easy-growing flowering shrub. Explosions of coral flowers splashed with white accents will load this evergreen shrub during the bloom periods. The bi-colored flowers have white ruffled edges, are single to double in size, and measure up to 2.5 inches wide. The Autumn Starburst Azalea has dark green evergreen foliage that lines the branches all year long.

Ideal Ways to Plant the Autumn Starburst™ Encore® Azalea

  • Buy for small privacy screens or foundation plantings
  • Plant as a single specimen shrub to highlight its bright bi-color flowers
  • Cluster 3–4 shrubs for dramatic pops of seasonal color
  • Grow in containers for easy placement and shape control
  • Add to pollinator gardens—the blooms attract butterflies and bees

The entire Encore® Azalea series is known for reliable repeat blooming, evergreen foliage, and low-maintenance care, making it a smart purchase for gardeners wanting long-lasting color.

Autumn Starburst Encore Azalea Care

Grow this Encore Autumn Starburst across the United States in USDA grow zones 6-9. The mature size is up to 3-4 feet tall and wide and is perfect for small garden spaces. Azaleas prefer planting sites with partial sun to partial shade. A spot with morning sun and afternoon shade is best.

The Azalea Encore Autumn Starburst fancies slightly acidic soil that is well draining and rich with nutrients. Fertilize annually with a slow-release fertilizer in early spring for best results and to aid in flower production. Be sure to water the plants well during the first year of planting to establish a strong root system. A thick 2-inch layer of mulch is recommended to help retain moisture.

Deadhead spent flower blossoms to encourage new growth. Prune after the first set of flowers finishes blooming to shape the shrub to the desired size. Pruning azaleas too late in the year will risk cutting off next year’s blooms.
