Grit Free Pear Tree That is Extremely Easy to Grow!

Completely free of grit cells, the Carnes Pear is the best hard pear out there for fresh eating right off the tree!

The Carnes pear tree features medium-sized fruit with yellowish-green skin that has a slightly coarse texture. Ideal for northern Florida landscapes, the Pyrus communis tree blooms in late March and the fruit typically ripens in July.

Especially relevant, this early blooming variety will need another early blooming variety so it cross pollinates properly. A good tree to plant for cross pollination is the Pineapple Pear, Orient Pear, or any other European pear or Asian pear.

The common pear tree’s lush green foliage and white blooming flowers offer a beautifully aesthetic appeal to any landscape!

Carnes Pear Tree Care

The tree will produce fruit after 3 years of planting.  Not picky on soil types and is resistant to fire blight and powdery mildew.

Grows best in the southern United States in USDA planting zones 8 and 9. Does not require many chill hours to bear fruit. This pear variety can grow up to 20-30 feet tall and wide at full maturity in full sun.

FAQs for Carnes Pear Tree

The sweetest pear variety is the aptly named "Sugar Pear."

Bartlett pears are sweet, juicy, and just the right amount of tender. They're perfect for eating fresh, but also hold up well in all kinds of baked goods and salads.

When it comes to sweetness, Comice pears take the cake. These pears are known for their luscious, melt-in-your-mouth texture and a taste that's like a symphony of sugary goodness.

These trees typically take about 3-5 years to start producing fruit. The exact timing can vary depending on factors like the age of the tree when you planted it and how well you take care of it.
