The purple flowering tree is a fully leaved cultivar of the Missouri Native Redbud Tree It is a small, deciduous trees featuring a spreading, flat-to-rounded crown, and can eventually grow to 20-30 feet high.
The Forest pansy redbud tree’s clusters of tiny, rosy purple pea-like pink flowers grow profusely on the branches and mature trunks of the planted tree for 2-3 weeks in the early spring growing season. Then the heart-shaped leaves and foliage emerges. The blooms are a more intense rose-purple than common eastern redbud.
