HOW TO TAKE CARE OF KNOCKOUT ROSE TREE
The Knockout Rose Patio Tree comes in a 3-gallon container and measures 3-4 feet tall. It is perfect for keeping in a container for your porch or patio, planting in the ground as a specimen tree, or planting in groups.
Grow the cold-hardy knockout rose tree in a pot across the United States in USDA hardiness zones 5-10. This low-maintenance rose variety is not picky and will tolerate a wide range of planting sites and soil types. Apply a thick layer of mulch to retain moisture.
Grow in full sun to partial shade for best results. You may experience fewer flowers if planted in a more shaded area. Moist, well-draining soil is best to prevent root rot on the root systems. A slow-release fertilizer will help give the flowering tree a good boost of nutrients if applied in the early spring. Although this deciduous tree can be kept in a container, you can plant the rose tree during early spring or fall in zones 8-10. Dig a hole double the size of the root ball, and ensure that the soil is slightly acidic. Roses do best in soil with a ph between 6 and 6.5. I ordered 3 pink double knockout trees last May & they bloomed beautifully all summer. The only drawback is that Japanese beetles LOVE these things. They can sort of lean because it is difficult to get them to grow symmetrically so I will be staking the center one. Cut them back substantially this March & here are the 1st blooms of the year! Our fence is 4ft for reference.
