Juicy Peaches Are Produced Earlier in the Season than Most Other Varieties!

The Early Elberta Peach tree is an earlier ripening variety of the world-famous Elberta Peach.

The Prunus persica Early Elberta is a yellow freestone peach variety that produces large, firm peaches with yellow and red blush skin and white flesh. The Early Elberta Peach taste can be described as sweet and juicy. It has an early August harvest date which is earlier than most other peaches. Enjoy your fruit sooner!

Bright pink flowers open up in the early spring and contrast the dark green foliage of the tree. Fruit will begin to appear in the spring and summer growing seasons. Ripe fruit will be ready to pick in late summer and is ready for fresh eating. Since the tree is deciduous it will lose its leaves over the winter.

The Early Elberta freestone peach is a great addition to any backyard orchard, as a specimen tree, or even in a container where space is limited in your home garden. The peaches are absolutely delicious and can be made into a peach cobbler, pie, or preserves!

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A PEACH TREE

Grow this cold hardy peach tree across the United States in USDA hardiness zones 5-9. The Early Elberta Peach chill hour requirement is at least 600 hours and it is perfect for northern states. It prefers full sun for best fruit production.

Moist, well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter is best to keep this peach tree healthy. An annual application of slow-release fertilizer will benefit the tree for structural growth and increase fruit yield. Water thoroughly during the first year of planting to establish a strong root system and during the fruiting period to avoid blossom drop.

The mature size of the Early Elbert Peachtree is up to 15-20 feet tall and wide at full maturity. It is considered a semi-dwarf peach tree variety. You can prune this fruit tree in late winter or early spring to maintain the desired size and shape.

It is a self fertile peach tree but having other peach trees nearby will increase cross-pollination and fruit quality. These are not bare-root trees, they are rooted in their nursery container in soil.
