Providing your fruit tree with the right type of soil is an important first step that’s often overlooked. Our soil for fruit tree planting provides the best growing conditions necessary for growing a healthy fruit tree and maximizing your fruit production.
Growing fruit trees is easy and rewarding. Imagine having fruit from apple trees at your fingers year after year. Lots of trees are low maintenance and require little work to keep them thriving.
You can get a soil sample done to do a soil test to tell your soil pH and nutrient levels. Some soils may need to be amended and this is the perfect addition to any native soil to improve the organic materials being added. Some sandy soils and acid soils will need soil preparation if fruit trees are to survive.
This blend of soil for fruit trees includes organic matter such as Canadian peat moss, aged pine bark, controlled release 360-day fertilizer, granite sand, and other minor elements to provide you with the best start to amending your soil.
It is well-draining soil and also retains moisture to keep your fruit trees healthy. If you have young trees it will help fight against pests and diseases. The fruit tree soil will help your tree roots establish strong root systems.
You can even use this soil in raised beds or containers where you have fruit trees planted. Some dwarf trees grow in smaller spaces and this fruit tree planting mix will add everything they are missing.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLANTING FRUIT TREES
The best time to plant your tree is in early spring so it has the whole growing season to establish its root system.
Dig a hole the depth of your plant and twice as wide as your plant. Mix your dug-up soil with the amended Special Blend Soil and use this mixture to fill back in around the root ball of your planting hole. Pack the soil firmly ensuring no air holes or air pockets remain and water thoroughly.
It is good to set up a regular watering schedule the first year of planting to establish your new tree. A tree gator is a great option for those with busy schedules.
Keep away from children and pets. Harmful if ingested.
