Yes! Autumn Amethyst® is an evergreen azalea, and it will keep foliage year-round in most climates. In warm regions, you’ll see glossy leaves throughout every season. In cooler climates, it may drop a small amount of winter foliage but still maintains structure and color. The foliage color will change from vibrant green to striking purple in winter, giving it a unique look throughout all 4 seasons.

Encore® Azaleas, including Autumn Amethyst®, thrive in full sun to part shade, but they bloom most heavily with at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal in hot southern climates. Too much shade can reduce reblooming, while too much harsh afternoon sun without irrigation may stress the plant. Planting them in filtered light gives you the perfect balance of healthy foliage, vibrant flowers, and reliable rebloom.
