Autumn Majesty® Azalea is an evergreen flowering shrub from the Encore Azalea collection that is valued for its large lavender to purple blooms and dependable re-blooming habit. This variety forms a rounded, well branched plant with glossy green foliage that provides structure and interest throughout the year. Its size and flower coverage make it a strong visual presence in both residential and commercial landscapes.

This Rhododendron hybrid was developed through the Encore® Azalea breeding program, which began in Louisiana with the goal of creating azaleas that bloom multiple times per year while maintaining evergreen foliage and improved performance.

Autumn Majesty Azalea Care Guide

This azalea grows best in partial sun, ideally receiving morning sunlight and protection from harsh afternoon exposure. It prefers acidic, well drained soil rich in organic matter and benefits from regular watering, especially during hot or dry periods. Mulching helps maintain soil moisture and regulate root temperature. Minimal pruning is needed, but light shaping after major bloom cycles can encourage healthy growth and future flowering.

• Plant in partial sun to filtered light; morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal.
• Plant in well-drained, acidic soil with a pH between 5.0 and 6.0 like our Acidic Potting Soil.
• Water consistently during establishment and during dry spells; reliable moisture through the blooming periods improves both flower size and rebloom performance
• Mulch around the base to retain soil moisture, regulate temperature, and help maintain the acidic soil conditions the plant prefers
• Prune minimally and only after the spring bloom. Cutting back too aggressively or at the wrong time removes the buds that would have produced summer and fall flowers
