Pink Drift Rose Care

  • Watering: Water regularly, especially the first season. Once established, the Pink Drift is reasonably drought tolerant.

  • Fertilizing: Apply a slow-release fertilizer at the start of the growing season to support re-blooming and help prevent black spot.

  • Deadheading: Remove spent blooms to encourage the next flush of flowers — the more you deadhead, the faster it re-blooms.

  • Pruning: A light trim in early spring or fall is all that's needed to keep it tidy. Heavy pruning is not required.

Rosa ‘Meijocos’ is easy to grow and easy to care for. Plant drift roses in early spring A regular watering schedule and annual fertilization will greatly benefit the pink flowers from diseases like black spots. A slow-release fertilizer at the top of the root ball is best at the beginning of the growing season.

The Pink Drift Rose is best suited for full sun areas and will adapt to a variety of soil types. Flowers shoot up in early spring and the pink rose bush stays stocky at roughly 1-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. Amend your native soil with our Rose Soil Mix for the best results when planting a new rose bush.

This Drift series family of roses from Star Roses and Plants are fairly disease-resistant plants and exhibit a spreading habit. A great choice for groundcover roses and miniature plants.

Bloom Season & What to Expect

One of the Pink Drift's biggest selling points is its remarkably long bloom season. Flowers begin emerging in early spring and continue re-blooming in flushes all the way through fall until the first frost. The deep pink, double blooms feature a soft, faded center that gives each flower a delicate, layered look up close. Deadheading spent blooms encourages the plant to push out the next flush of flowers more quickly, keeping the color show going strong all season. Even without deadheading, this rose will continue to re-bloom reliably, making it one of the most effortless color producers available for home landscapes.

Shows excellent winter hardiness. The pink rose grows across most of the United States in USDA growing zones 4-11.
