How to care for ground cover Drift® Roses

The Sweet Drift Rose is best suited for sunny areas and will adapt to a variety of soil types. Our Rose Soil Mix is the best choice for amending native soils with proper soil nutrition when planting drift roses.

The Drift series can benefit from the addition of slow release fertilizer at the top of the root ball once a year in the early spring growing season. Deadheading spent flower blossoms will encourage repeat blooms to appear. Mulching with organic matter will help retain moisture and keep your roses looking healthy even after the first freeze of late fall.

This easy to grow shrub rose prefers full sun when planted in the ground. Highly recommend watering thoroughly during the first year of planting to establish a strong root system. This does not ship bare root and we don't knock off thee dirt before shipping. Our roses ship in the container they were grown in with a well-developed root system and all the dirt.

Grow this full-size ground cover rose across the United States in USDA growing zones 4-11. It is very cold hardy and also drought tolerant. At full maturity, this dwarf rose bush can grow up to 1-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide.
