Lush Lemon Blooms Add Supple Yellow Color to the Landscape with Ease
Are you looking to add brightness to your rose garden? Lemon Drift® Rose will lighten up any landscape with its lemony-yellow hue and reblooming abilities. With a bushy, compact, and rounded growth habit, the yellow drift rose can be planted as a single specimen or ground cover.
Like the Popcorn drift rose, the rose color starts as a soft yellow and fades to creamy white blooms. The overall impression is yellow and cream reminiscent and has a contrasting dark green foliage that lies underneath the yellow roses.
Drift Roses are a cross of full-size ground cover roses and miniature roses. They gained durability, disease resistance, and winter hardiness from the full-size ground cover roses. The Drift series rose bushes gained a healthy size and repeat-blooming nature from the miniatures.
They enhance edgings, fill empty spaces, and spread elegantly around established plants, small gardens, or rock walls. Yellow rose bushes are low maintenance and will reward you with endless color all season long.
To create an array of colors, plant with other shrub roses like Pink Drift Rose or Peach Drift Rose.
HOW TO GROW LEMON DRIFT ROSES
No special attention is required for Drift Rose Bushes besides well-draining soil. For best presentation, prune drift roses annually in early spring after the last peril of frost has passed. The addition of mulch or organic matter will help with moisture retention. Don’t have the right soil conditions for roses? Buy our Rose Planting Mix to amend your native soil or container.
Be sure to water the drift groundcover roses thoroughly during the first year to establish a strong root system and keep the soil moist. These creamy white and yellow blooms prefer full sun and rest assured they will make your landscape look beautiful!
Drift roses are pest and disease resistant even to diseases like powdery mildew and black spot. An annual application of slow release fertilizer at the top of the root ball in the beginning of the growing season should help with any problems that may arise.
Grows best across the United States in USDA plant hardiness zones 4-11. The yellow drift rose can get up to 1.5 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide at full maturity.
