Early Spring Blooming Flowers & Easy to Grow
The name says it all for this spring beauty. The Spring Bouquet Viburnum shrub’s blooms emerge in a brilliant fragrant bouquet of uniquely elegant blossoms. They add a touch of class to any landscape with minimal maintenance!
The Spring Bouquet shrub is a beautiful semi-evergreen with delicately fragrant pinkish-white blossoms and dark green leaves. The lightly fragrant flowers cluster into groups during the early spring growing season and are star shaped. Bloom times may vary depending on location and some may continue to bloom their pink buds through the summer months.
The pink flower buds eventually turn into metallic blue berries as new plant growth emerges in the fall. The berries attract birds and other wildlife as they can be eaten freely on the horizontal branches. In some planting locations, it can become a deciduous shrub as winter appears and lose some of its fall foliage.
The Viburnum tinus spring bouquet’s dense and compact growth habit makes this a favorite choice among landscapers and garden designers used as a hedge, screen or foundation plant. This species of viburnum bush stays between 4-6 feet tall and wide.
SPRING BOUQUET VIBURNUM CARE
The Spring Bouquet Viburnum Compactum is a hardy shrub that prefers full sun to partial shade. The shrub does best in moist but well-drained soil and will tolerate a wide range of soil types like sandy sites or clay if drainage is adequate. It does not tolerate wet soils and does not like wet feet.
The shrub is drought tolerant once established. Little spring bouquet viburnum pruning is needed to maintain its attractive features. You can prune viburnum into a small tree if that is the desired look. At mature size, the Viburnum tinus Spring Bouquet height grows up to 4-6 feet tall and wide.
Grows well across the southern United States in USDA plant hardiness zones 7-11. The best time of year to plant the spring viburnum shrub is in spring or fall. All viburnums give great fall color.
It is very easy to grow and pest and disease resistant. Water deeply the first year to grow and thrive and establish a strong root system. A slow release fertilizer in the early spring will help the plant establish its root system.
This evergreen shrub with dark green foliage and dainty white flowers that leave a pinkish hue is one of our favorites!

Once your Spring Bouquet Viburnum order is placed, we will ship your plant(s) within seven business days year round unless during the checkout process you request otherwise in the space provided to do so.
Perfect Plants’ shipping specialists carefully package your plants using a proven packaging method that ensures your plants arrive healthy, colorfully alive and ready to flourish. We’ve coined the term ‘upside down box test’ and we do just that; we carefully package so that regardless of the direction your box is handled, it will not harm your precious plant that’s inside.
No shipping process is without a problem from time to time. On rare occasions some plants may experience some of the following during their transit: drooping, minor leaf-loss and/or minimal yellowing/discoloration, minor limb damage, etc. These instances are quite rare, but can happen when shipping plants in boxes.
Plants normally recover within a few weeks after planting. If a damaged box has injured your plant on the inside, please notify us within 5 days of receiving you package(s) by emailing us a photograph of the damage.
We always do our very best to ensure that your plants are packed and shipped in the safest, gentlest and most effective way possible.
Will my plants and trees look like the photographs?
Absolutely! Unlike other online nurseries, our photos are of actual plants and trees we’ve grown here, on our family operated nursery.
Growing our own plants and trees helps to ensure we ship you the best quality plants that are free of pests and diseases.
Your plants and trees may however not ship with flowers on them, like the photographs. This all depends on the time of year you buy your plant or tree. Crape Myrtle trees, for example, only bloom during the summer months, so if you purchase one during the spring or fall, they would ship without flowers. Once planted, your plants will grow and thrive giving you flowers for many years to come!
Pot sizes (commonly referred to in gallons) are shipped in the same size nursery trade pots which may vary in actual volume. Some plants may have been at the approximate pot size listed, but require excess dirt to be removed so that you will not be paying any additional shipping costs. This doesn’t happen very often though.
Our shipping charges are based on the value of your order. Please use the chart below to see what your shipping charge will be.
SPRING BOUQUET VIBURNUM CARE:
The Spring Bouquet Viburnum prefers full sun or partial shade and does well in a variety of climates. Flowering will be best in fun sun. It is adaptable to most soil types. It is moderately drought tolerant once established, but regular watering is preferred for ideal growth.
Little pruning is needed to contain this Viburnum, but a Spring Bouquet that is becoming leggy can be selectively pruned. This should be done after the flowering season to avoid removing the following year’s buds.
If planting multiples, space their centers 3 or more feet apart.
Dig a hole approximately twice as wide as your new plant’s root ball and deep enough so that the top of the root ball is equal with the ground level.
Loosen the root ball using a small garden spade or by hand. Breaking smaller outer roots can encourage growth into the new soil, but take care to not damage large primary roots.
Place the plant in the hole and ensure that it is situated evenly upright. Use the excavated soil to fill in around the root ball, using your foot to pack it in firmly. Thoroughly soak with a hose as you fill in the dirt. Take great care to not leave any gaps or air spaces around the root ball as this could kill the plant.
A 2-4 inch layer of mulch is strongly recommended to help retain moisture and discourage weed growth. Apply mulch over the entire planting area but keep away from the stems or trunk by a few inches. Ensure that the plant and surrounding soil is completely soaked with water.
To ensure the proper nutrients are available for the life of your Spring Bouquet Viburnum, our proprietary Perfect Plants Special Blend Soil and a once yearly application of Nutricote Total 360 Fertilizer are great considerations for your new plants!

Trees were very tall (~4 1/2') and healthy. And 1/2 the price of a nursery in GA we almost got some from.
Quality plants and great customer service. There was a mixed up with my order and my plants didn't arrive and instead I received two other varieties. Perfect Plants immediately corrected the issue and the right order arrived a week later.
Lovely new growth shortly after arrival. Buds are about to bloom as well.
First time online plant buyer. Called to ask about shipping method. Spoke with Elisa and she explained how 'perfect' their method was to keep the plants from breaking. Upon delivery of the plants she was completely right, no broken branches. Will order again. Thanks Elisa
