Strikingly Unique Native Shrub has All Season Appeal & Adds a WOW Factor!

The Yellow Twig Dogwood bush is a medium sized deciduous shrub that features golden yellow multi-stemmed branches for winter color, minimal white summer flowers, and gorgeous fall colored foliage in autumn.

Yellow Twig Dogwood shrub is a lovely four-season interest plant that has something to show off in every season. During late spring and early summer, green leaves shoot out, and eventually small, white flowers are inconspicuous and bloom in clusters. The Yellow Twig dogwood flowers are fragrant and attract pollinators to your winter garden.

The Cornus stolonifera flowers eventually mature to white berries that native birds love to munch on and provide an excellent food source during fall & winter when most other plants are dormant.

As summer turns to fall and temperatures drop, the green foliage changes to shades of red, orange, and purple to put on a magnificent display of seasonal change.

Yellow Twig Dogwood's native range is all across North America with the exception of the deep south. It loves wet and swampy areas and is commonly seen growing near riverbanks, streams, or bogs.

Grow this unusual flowering shrub in your landscape as stand alone plantings, grouped for visual interest as shrub borders, or in containers where the size can be maintained.

Yellow Twig Dogwood Care

Exceptionally cold hardy, the twig dogwood shrub grows best in USDA growing zones 2-8. Not picky on soil types or planting spots, the best soil for dogwood shrubs is a well drained and nutrient rich type. Be sure to keep the soil consistently moist to establish a strong root system as they tolerate wet soil very well.

Yellow Twig Dogwood is shade or sun tolerant. You will see more flower and berry production in full sun planting spots.

The dwarf Yellow Twig Dogwood can grow up to be 5-6 feet tall and wide at full maturity so it is perfect for small spaces in the garden. Yellow Twig Dogwood spacing should be between 3-5 feet apart depending on the look you are going for. You will love how easy they are to maintain and keep attractive looking.

Yellow Twig Dogwood's growth rate is moderate and they can see heights of up to 2 feet per year. Applying a slow release fertilizer in early spring will help to jumpstart the growing season.

The best stem color appears on young or new wood. Prune back annually to encourage bright, vibrant yellow colors on your branches.
