Mars Grapes Are Prolific Growers & Produce A High Yield

The Purple Mars Grape Vine is a wonderful addition for home gardeners & one of the most disease-resistant grape varieties on the market!

Gorgeous deep blue grapes that have a high yield and growth rate are produced in medium-sized clusters. They are known as table grapes and are very similar to the concord grape variety.

The Mars seedless grape vine fruit has a very sweet flavor perfect for eating fresh, making wine, jams, and jellies, or grape juice! This variety of grape is a slipskin variety meaning it has a tough skin that easily separates from the juicy flesh.

Mars Grapes Growing

Mars seedless grape vines are easy to grow and produce delicious purple or dark blue grapes. Mars seedless grape plants can grow in many different soil types as long as they’re planted in well-draining soil. You can also grow a Mars seedless grape plant on an arbor or trellis to provide support while actively growing. They prefer to grow in full sun for at least 6-8 hours a day for best fruit production and require good air circulation for healthy growth and rot prevention.

The Mars grape variety takes 2-4 years to bear fruit. Grow this self-pollinating grape across the United States in USDA zones 5-8, it's among the coldest hardy of the blue seedless grape varieties. It also tolerates hot environments in the South. Growing Mars grapes can reach up to 6-8 feet tall and wide at maturity.

Be sure to water well the first year of planting to help establish a strong root system. Mars grapes will need lots of water, especially during hot summer dry spells when the fruit is being produced.

Mars Grapes Taste & Flavor

A Mars grape vine is perfect for growing delicious bunches of Mars grapes. Mars seedless grapes taste very juicy and sweet like candy in flavor. They have dark purple or blue skin and are similar to Concord grapes, but more pest-resistant.

How To Prune Mars Seedless Grapes

The best time to prune a Mars grapevine is when the plant is dormant in the winter. Since the Mars grape variety is seedless, it's best to use a spur pruning method to cut back the fruiting vines. Be sure to leave 3 to 5 nodes on each for healthy growth and fruit production.

I ordered a little forest of trees....

I had doubts about ordering plants on line. I did, not knowing what to expect. I ordered over 30 trees at once. Most fruit trees to plant in a lot we own in Houston, TX. I just ordered 8 more fruit plants, including some flowering plants. They all came fresh (probably much better than live produce at a supermarket!). The packing was genius, no plant was harmed, they are all healthy, no diseases, some had actual FRUIT in their branches!!! What can I say? I am beyond happy with the service, the quality and the product. Definitely my new plant store!!! I recommend them without reservations. Cheers!

The Vines recovered

The item arrived two days late someone with it, but they have come back to life with watering and care. The packaging was good but it should never arrive late when it’s a plant.

didn't get size I ordered

The plants arrived healthy but were not what I ordered. I was trying to get my garden looking perfect before I sell my house: I needed to fill in the holes in my grape vine trellis around my garden, and ordered three 4-6 foot plants. Two of them were shorter than 2 foot, including the pot. I sent in a photo and asked for a replacement or refund, and they would not, but paid me the difference between the prices. I had to buy two of the correct size from elsewhere so that my grape vines could at least look even for my house listing next month, so I lost two weeks also. Will not buy from them again. Not so perfect after all.

Perfect Plants Nursery

Hey there, fellow plant lover! It's a bummer to hear about your experience with the plants not being what you ordered. Even though the situation didn't turn out as perfect as we would have liked, it's fantastic that the plants arrived healthy - that's a great start! We understand that waiting for the right plants and dealing with the mix-up took some extra time and effort, but we really appreciate your understanding. If there's anything we can do to make it up to you in the future, we're here with open arms and plants aplenty. Happy gardening and good luck with that house sale! Best, Shirley
