Thorn Free Raspberry Bush Makes for Easy Picking!

An ideal plant for home gardens, the Glencoe Thornless Raspberry bush is a creation of the Scottish Crop Research Institute and is a mix between black and red raspberries.

The Glencoe raspberry bush is a compact plant and does great in containers! This raspberry bush is self-pollinating and will bear fruit with only a single plant. Raspberries will begin to ripen in the early summer growing season. Fresh fruit has never been easier to enjoy right off the plant!

One of the easiest to manage, fruit-producing plants. Your plant will produce raspberries in the first year of planting. It is a thornless raspberry bush meaning its canes are spine-free. Easy to pick and enjoy for fresh eating!

These summer-bearing fruit bushes are bursting with raspberry flavor that will delight all of your senses!

GLENCOE RASPBERRY BUSH CARE AND PLANTING

The Glencoe prefers full sunlight and well-drained soil and will grow to be 6 to 8 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide at full maturity. The floricane raspberry bush shows good pest and disease-resistant qualities. It also shows good resistance to verticillium wilt disease.

Grows raspberries best in USDA plant hardiness zones 4-8 across the United States. Does not like the super hot summers like in south Florida. Perfect Plants ships this raspberry bush rooted in a pot with soil. We do not ship bare root plants.

When the plants arrive, prepare to plant immediately. Shake off the excess dirt around the root ball before planting. Dig a hole at least double the size of the container to give the root system space to grow. Plants will grow immediately and can grow several inches tall in the first month of planting.

Prune raspberry bushes for diseased or dead canes annually to encourage new growth in early spring.

You can even grow these fruit plants in a container or raised bed. You will have a brand new summer crop bearing variety or raspberry patch growing in no time! These raspberry plants are easy to grow and harvest.

85 outta 100%

I have been growing this Purple Raspberry Bush for nearly 3 years. The 1st and 2nd year of growing, I produced very minimal raspberries, which was a bummer. I was certain I would lose the entire plant after this year; however, to my amazement, more primocanes (suckers) popped up and my bounty of only 2 floricanes was at least 5.5 pounds of raspberries. I am amazed by this plant, its deliciousness, its hardiness and crop (a true bounty of only 2 floricanes). I am beginning to realize birds also find the plant delightful; however, I was able to pick them prior to any real bird destruction. These are gourmet raspberries and I am proud to be a farmer of them. Overall rating is 85/100% Starting crops for next year of Heritage and Meeker and will be in a better position of rating.

While we bought it through another vendor, it's still an amazing raspberry plant that deserves more use in the garden. I have to take issue with the 'size' when ours had to be put on a berry vine as it easily went 12'-15' in the 2nd and 3rd years we've grown the plant so buyer beware, you just may need more room. As for the berries; wow! We've not come across something quite like it for raspberries. What's not to like, the color, flavor, size of berries; it's the one we and those we've shared with always want more.

The bush came with raspberries on it. They are starting to turn more red and will eventually be ready to eat. Couldn't be happier
