Product Description
Aloe Vera plants have long been prized for their low maintenance growing qualities and numerous health benefits. Even the most forgetful gardener can’t kill these hardy succulents.
Aloe is one of the most widely used medicinal plants on the planet. Commonly used to heal sunburns and for wound care, it can also be ingested to decrease heartburn, as a natural laxative, and to lower blood sugar.
With white speckled flesh that is soft to the touch and spikey oblong leaves, the aloe plant is a beautiful specimen. Perfect for growing indoors on a desk, table, or windowsill as an ornamental houseplant.
Aloe Vera Plant Care
Aloe Vera does best in well draining soil and bright, indirect light. A south or east-facing window is best. Our Succulent and Cactus Soil Mix would be a great pair for your new aloe plant.
Do not overwater. This succulent plant likes dry conditions. Allow soil to dry out completely between watering. Limp or brown aloe leaves signal your plant is being overwatered.
The aloe plant can grow up to 2-3 feet tall and 1-2 feet wide at full maturity. Aloe vera can spread in the area you plant it in. It will produce “pups” to become new aloe plants.
Gardeners in USDA growing zones 9-11 have the option to grow this succulent outdoors in their garden. Any colder than zone 9 will need to have winter protection or grow it indoors as a houseplant. Many people grow aloe indoors in a bright sunny window with no issues.
