Planting Rabbiteye Blueberries
Blueberries prefer full sun for best fruit production and even moisture. The Becki blueberry is tolerant of hot, humid conditions and is a taller variety, growing 6 to 10 feet tall a d 6-10 feet wide. Requires little pruning to maintain shape. Around 350 chill hours are needed for ideal fruit set. Grow across the United States in USDA growing zones 6-9. It performs best in well drained soil and full sun. The addition of organic matter such as pine bark or pine straw will help retain moisture during the hot summer months. Its berries tend to ripen in late May to early June.
