The ornamental Musa Bordelon Banana tree embodies the true look and feel of the tropics.
Its large ornamental foliage has maroon splotches on the upper surface and even more maroon on the undersides. The maroon contrasts the lush green outer edges nicely. The plant produces flowers and produces fruit that is inedible and seeded. Not only is it attractive looking, it is perfect for birds and other wildlife to snack on though!
Discovered in the Louisiana town of Bordelonville, this cultivar slightly resembles Musa Acuminata aka Zebrina the blood banana in its fruit.
