Tolerant of transplanting, the shallow roots of the Wintergreen Boxwood are easy to move to the desired planting site. Avoid planting in windy areas. Their soil needs are adaptable, although they prefer organic, well-drained soil. Boxwoods can be planted 2-3 feet apart from their centers to form a hedge. WINTERGREEN BOXWOOD CARE
Wintergreen Boxwood is simple to look after when you know a few things to look out for. Weekly watering is recommended for the first two years after planting your Boxwood and mulching is recommended for retaining moisture. Fertilize lightly in early spring with a slow release fertilizer near the root ball. A layer of mulch applied heavily around the root system will help with moisture retention.
It is incredibly disease resistant, salt spray tolerant, and also deer resistant. This cold hardy boxwood variety can grow across most regions of the United States in USDA hardiness zones 5-9 and does not need much protection from winter winds.
