Lush Cone Shaped Blooms Add Visual Appear During Summer

Planting a Limelight Hydrangea bush will add a true show stopper vibe and summer feel to your garden!

The Limelight hydrangea shrub boasts cone-shaped flowers that are larger than most other hydrangea varieties and begin to bloom mid-summer. Celadon green flowers bloom on new wood year after year. Deadhead spent flower blossoms in winter or early spring to encourage new growth and accelerate the bloom time.

The creamy white lime-green color of the hydrangea blooms will last all the way into the fall growing season. Eventually, they will change into a deep pink that truly highlights and contrasts with its lush dark green leaves. Soil pH does not affect limelight bloom color. The white flower color will change as the weather cools down in fall.

The proven winner variety is what is known as a panicle hydrangea which means the blooms get quite large and the flower heads change from white to pink, red, or burgundy before drying to a beige color in winter.

Planting Limelight Hydrangeas

The Hydrangea paniculata limelight has an upright growing structure that will get up to 8 feet tall and wide at maturity. It is also drought-tolerant. It performs best in loamy, moist, well-drained soil types and unlike many other hydrangeas, it prefers full sun to partial sun.

This flowering shrub can grow in most of the United States in the Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 3-9. Makes an excellent shrub border. Growing hydrangeas is fun and rewarding! They can grow in most of North America.

The best time of year to plant the limelight tree is in early spring so it has time to establish roots. The limelight hydrangea growth rate is up to 12 inches per year.

A slow-release fertilizer applied in early spring will help this type of hydrangea thrive during the growing season. Apple insecticidal soap if you see pests such as slugs, snails, aphids, or spider mites.

Limelight hydrangea pruning should happen in late winter or early spring before new growth appears or larger flower buds start forming.

Our Limelight Hydrangea for sale is a perfect choice if you are looking for easy to grow, blooms every year, and even makes gorgeous cut flowers! The lime hydrangea flowers are a favorite for many gardeners!

The most beautiful limelights

They were packaged so well-they came out of the box looking like I just picked them from the nursery. They gave bloom beautifully since I have put them in the ground. They make me so happy!

I can't help but feel a twinkle in my own green thumb when I hear stories like yours. It's the little things, like successful plant shipments and breathtaking blooms, that make gardening so rewarding. So keep on nurturing those plants, my friend. They'll keep on giving you happiness and beauty for years to come.

These are amazing - even in heat

I live in Austin and planted these 2 years ago. I add sulfur to my high pH soil and a little fertilizer here and there. I have a small drip irrigator (0.5gallons per day - Netafim NetBow) and 3 inches of mulch. They get direct sunlight for about 8h. Even through the 3 month drought last summer these things did amazing. Even drought tolerant plants got killed off last year... meanwhile these became monstrous! 6 feet tall with flowers the size of soccer balls.

Hi there, It sounds like you've got quite the green thumb over there in Austin! Congrats on mastering the art of pampering high-maintenance plants in that droughty summer. Keep doing what you're doing, and your garden will be the talk of the town in no time. Best, Shirley

Wrong Plant Arrived

Not great. I did order a Limeilight Hydrangea but received Magnolia-Little Gem and that plant was in terrible shape when I got it. I sent an email and received no response
