Perfectly Pink, An Early Blooming Shrub!

The Pink Perfection Camellia shrub is a true Southern statement piece!

With pale pink fully double flowers that have layers of overlapping petals and glossy deep green foliage that stays evergreen all year round, what’s not to love?! The light pink flowers will form throughout the summer and fall months to explode in blooms beginning in late winter through early spring.

Camellia Japonica Pink Perfection is best grown as a specimen plant or accent plant, in woodland gardens, foundation plantings, or somewhere the beautiful pink camellia flowers can be enjoyed. It is an heirloom camellia variety that has been planted and loved for centuries!

HOW TO GROW PINK PERFECTION CAMELLIAS

Grow the Camellia Pink Perfection shrub across the United States in USDA hardiness zones 7-10. Camellias love moist, acidic soil so check out our  Acidic Potting Mix for sale to help amend the soil at your planting site. Well-draining soil is a plus too because they don’t like wet feet.

The mature size of the camellia shrub is up o 7-12 feet tall and 5-8 feet wide and forms a bushy growth habit. It loves the full sun in the morning and afternoon partial shade to protect it from the heat. Applying a slow-release fertilizer annually will help promote new growth and flowers that come back year after year. The Pink Perfection Camellia growth rate is up to 1-2 feet per year.

The best time to prune camellias is after they finish flowering in spring. You don’t want to risk cutting off the medium-sized shell pink camellia flowers for next year. Prune the dark green leaves to maintain your desired shape and size. Once the camellia bush grows larger, you can prune off lower branches to create a camellia tree form.

Mulch the evergreen shrub annually to help retain moisture and provide adequate water during times of heat stress.

Beautiful Plants

This nursery is first class. My 2 camelias arrived beautifully packaged and in perfect condition. You never know what you will get online but this nursery is by far superior to any I have tried. Such care went in to packaging the plants. You won't be disappointed in their quality.

Camellia Babes

I live in Austin texas and I didn't realize when I bought these plants that they required acidic soil that my area doesn't have naturally, so I wasn't sure how they would do. (I bought 2.) I planted them both in huge wine barrel planters so that I could better control the soil acidity. Here we are in late December and both babies have grown 6-8 inches and each has numerous buds and open flowers. Just as perfect as the pictures.
