The Cleveland pear has many benefits. When it comes to planting this flawless flowering tree you’ll have an easy decision to make!
The Cleveland Flowering Pear is an excellent curbside accent tree because of its dense white double flowering blossoms in early spring (same as cherry trees) and its magnificent purple fall color. Similar to the flowering white dogwood, the white blossoms fall in early summer due to heat only to be rejuvenated by dark green foliage.
It has an classic upright oval form and glossy green foliage. Can reach a height of 40 feet tall and a width of 20 feet. The Cleveland pear tolerates urban conditions and heavy clay soils and prefers full to partial sunlight. Resistant to fire blight.
This pear tree has a superior branch structure that will withstand a multitude of elements including ice and wind damage. The Cleveland pear is a versatile addition to almost any landscape. Its low maintenance, hardy nature and beautiful year-round appeal make it an excellent choice as an ornamental landscape tree.
Don’t be fooled, this ornamental pear tree does not produce fruit.. only beautiful white blooms.
