Dig a hole the size of the root ball, plant your drift roses and water thoroughly. Establish a regular watering schedule the first year of planting to ensure a healthy root system develops.
This dwarf rose bush can get up to 1-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. It is easy to grow across the United States in USDA plant hardiness zones 5-10. Drift roses grow in a variety of planting sites and soil conditions are relatively low maintenance.
This groundcover rose has continuous blooms starting in early spring and going all the way until the mid fall. Deadheading spent buds will encourage more red blooms. Prune drift roses to maintain desired size and shape, as well as pruning off dead branches.
A slow release fertilizer at the base of the plant will stimulate long bloom times and dark green foliage to maintain year round. Fertilize your roses in early spring. This plant has excellent disease resistance to black spot and other fungal diseases. Roses are tough as long as they get the TLC they need.
