Add Bold Color and Long-Lasting Blooms with the Red Double Knock Out® Rose Tree

Disease-Resistant, Easy-Care Rose Tree for Containers or Garden Beds

The Red Double Knock Out® Rose Tree delivers season-long cherry-red blooms on a hardy, low-maintenance standard rose tree form, perfect for patio containers or as a vibrant landscape centerpiece.

The rose tree comes with the same pest and disease resistance as all the Knockout and Drift Roses from Star Roses. It also boasts the same heat and drought tolerance qualities once established. It is perfect for keeping in a container for your porch or patio, planting in the ground as a specimen tree, or planting in groups.

Bright, red rose blossoms flower all season long and continue to re-bloom all year if deadheaded regularly. This rose plant produces rich, cherry red to hot pink blossoms that will continue to grow until the first hard frost of winter. The bloom cycle starts in early spring. Roses will bloom from spring until mid-summer before the weather gets too hot. They are fully double flowers on a rose tree bush.

Contrasting the vibrant red blooms is dark green foliage that will stay green throughout the year.

When to Plant a Double Knock Out Rose Tree

The best time to plant Double Knock Out rose trees is in the spring once the winter is fully over. You can also plant them in the fall before the winter starts across the United States in USDA hardiness zones 5-10. In general, avoid planting Double Knock Out rose trees when there is frost.

This low-maintenance rose variety is not picky and will tolerate a wide range of planting sites and soil types. The Knockout Rose Patio Tree comes in a 3-gallon container and measures 3-4 feet tall. Plant Double Knock Out rose trees in an area that gets full sun, or at least 3 to 4 hours of sun a day if planting in partial shade. You may experience fewer flowers if planted in a more shaded area.

This Double Knock Out Rose Tree is Super Easy to grow

A Double Knock Out rose tree does not generally require pruning but you can cut them back once a year if you're hoping to maintain a certain shape. Be sure to only prune them back to 12” to 18” inches high.

Growing a Double Knock Out Rose Tree in a Container

You can easily grow a Double Knock Out rose tree in a container. Be sure to use well-draining soil that is rich in nutrients. You also want to place a Double Knock Out rose tree somewhere it will receive six or more hours of sunlight a day.

Knock Out Rose Tree VS Bush

This can be confusing since both Double Knock Out rose trees and bushes are available to buy and grow. They're actually the same plant. The difference is that Double Knock Out rose trees are bushes that are grafted onto a straight growing trunk that makes them appear more tree-like in size and height.
