Order Kanza Pecan Tree Online
Plant the Kanza Pecan tree if you want an incredibly disease-resistant, cold-tolerant, shade-providing pecan cultivar!
The Kanza Pecan variety is a high-yielding cultivar that features pecans with golden kernels and delicious nuts. This shelling pecan tree was bred primarily for increased cold tolerance.
It is also disease resistant to pecan scab, and is resistant to a variety of other pests and diseases. This is a Type-2 pollinator and requires a Type-1 to produce nuts.
Taking Care of Pecan Trees
The Kanza pecan tree is heat tolerant and does best in full sunlight with loamy, well-drained soil. This tree will begin to harvest its outstandingly tasty pecans early in the season, typically in late September through October.
The Kanza pecan nuts are very similar in size to those produced by Elliot pecan tree, small and round with approximately 74 nuts per pound with 52% kernel.
Grow this pecan in USDA growing zones 6-9 across the United States. Not the best choice for a northern pecan as it only has slight cold hardiness. Be sure to water well the first year of planting to establish a strong root system.
