This Noble Muscadine grape vine cultivar, Muscadine Vitis rotundifolia,  is known as one of the best red wine grapes available!

The Noble muscadine grapevines are a leading wine grape that makes delicious dry red wine. This grapevine is incredibly productive and vigorous and is a self-pollinating vine meaning it does not need another plant for cross-pollination. The Noble Grape Vine has excellent cold hardiness, making it a great choice for cooler climates.

The Noble Muscadine plant produces medium-sized fruit that grows in large clusters. Ripe fruit features a blackish skin color once the fruit set. Muscadine grape health benefits have been studied for years and include being high in fiber and antioxidants.

This muscadine variety is pest and disease resistant and known for its high yields. The bunch grapes have 18% sugar and ripen in mid to late September. Fruit production begins in the first or second year of planting

GROWING MUSCADINE GRAPES

Plant the vine in full sun in early spring to it has the whole growing season to establish its roots. Muscadine vines are an excellent choice for home gardeners because it is a self-fertile variety. A slow release fertilizer in the early spring will help these vines grow grapes!

Muscadine plants grow great on a trellis! Needs at least 15 to 20 feet of space to grow as the vines get very long. Heat resistant- so it is a great choice for the southern United States getting into grape-growing muscadine grapes! Best grown in USDA plant hardiness zones 7-10. Wineries in Georgia and North Carolina use this variety of grapes frequently to make their wine.
