Few things do more for a landscape than a well-placed blooming shrub. Whether you're filling a sunny border with colorful bushes, anchoring a shady corner, or adding fragrant flowers that pollinators can't resist — the right flowering shrub pulls a whole yard together. From early spring camellias to fall-blooming encore azaleas, our hand-grown shrubs deliver color across every season. At Perfect Plants, we've been growing beautiful blooming shrubs in North Florida since 1980, and every plant ships straight from our nursery to your door.
We've been in business for over 45 years, and over the decades we've grown to offer almost 200 varieties of popular flower bushes. While the list could be much longer, and we encourage you to browse the entire collection, our most popular flowering shrub varieties include:
Not sure where to start? Star Jasmine is one of our most popular choices — its fragrant pinwheel flowers draw pollinators all spring and summer. For pure color, it's hard to beat the Coral Drift Rose, with vibrant blooms from spring through fall. We're big fans of the Little Lime Hydrangea for its full, show-stopping summer blooms in a compact size that works great in containers or small garden spaces.
Early spring gardeners love the Kanjiro Camellia — one of the earliest blooming shrubs we carry — and the Pink Double KnockOut® Rose for abundant pink flowers without a lot of fuss. Looking for a striking border plant? The Red Velvet Elvis Louisiana Iris Shrub stops people in their tracks with deep red flowers against lush green foliage.
Full sun flowering shrubs need at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily — shortchange them and they'll grow leggy with sparse blooms. The good news is that some of the most colorful bushes and shrubs absolutely thrive in bright sun and make outstanding landscaping shrubs for borders, foundations, and fence lines. Three of our go-to picks for sunny spots include:
Small flowering shrubs are perfect as foundation plants, container specimens, or accent shrubs where space is tight — a mass planting of small blooming bushes can make as bold a statement as a single large specimen. For larger landscapes, big flowering shrubs bring structure and serious color to the yard. Peach Drift Rose and Red Ruffles Azalea are two of our favorite compact picks, while Fragrant Tea Olive and Zhuzhou Loropetalum are top choices when you need a larger, showier shrub for landscaping.
